UW names engineering veteran Farrell as no. 2 official (AP)

MADISON, Wis. – An administrator in the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering will become the university’s next provost, Chancellor John Wiley announced Wednesday.

Patrick Farrell, executive associate dean of engineering, will assume his role as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs April 3. Wiley picked Farrell from a pool of three forwarded to him after a national search.
