MADISON, Wis. — University of Wisconsin officials said members of the University of Wisconsin marching band routinely engaged in hazing that involved alcohol and inappropriate sexual behavior.
For the first time since he took the helm in 1969, UW-Madison band director Mike Leckrone said he considered quitting last week after he learned there had been a reoccurrence of vulgar and raucous behavior by some of his band members.
