Madison Group Promotes Diversity, Racial Healing

One of Madison’s most comprehensive collections of books and videos on the topic of racism does not exist in a university building or city library.

It resides inside of the neat brown brick home of Richard Davis, across the street from the tranquil boat landings of Monona Bay and a block behind the busy industrial intersection of Park Street and Fish Hatchery Road. Here, Davis has compiled his own library of materials that tackle the sensitive subject of race, from videos on the history of racism to books on white privilege. Instead of a library card, Davis’ only requirement for using his materials is a willingness to learn.
