Saying the system exploits collegians stretches the point

When Florida’s Joe Cohen heard about the $32 million megadeal Alabama awarded its new football coach this week, he was delighted. “I’m happy for Nick Saban,” said the Gators senior defensive tackle. “That’s a lot of money. Somebody has to get paid.”Coaches get richer. Schools and conferences rake in millions of sponsorship and television dollars for the Bowl Championship Series. Networks reap the rewards of higher ratings. College ledgers benefit, too. And the student-athletes?
