Wis. band official resigns over actions during rowdy road trip (AP)

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin marching band’s assistant director has resigned after an internal report criticized his treatment of a female colleague during a rowdy band trip to Michigan last fall.

The report released late Tuesday said Michael Lorenz engaged in “unwelcome, intimidating, and frightening” behavior after he entered a part-time employee’s hotel room in the early morning of Sept. 23.

The band played during Wisconsin’s game against Michigan later that day in Ann Arbor, Mich.
