UK taps Wisconsin administrator as top research official (Lexington Herald-Leader)

An administrator and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has been named vice president for research at the University of Kentucky.

UK has chosen James W. Tracy, associate dean for research in the veterinary medicine school at UW-Madison. He has been a professor of comparative biosciences there since 1994.

UK’s Board of Trustees must approve the appointment, which will take effect Oct. 1, said UK Provost Kumble R. Subbaswamy.
