Daniel Lee “Dano” Eckert, age 48, of Fitchburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007. He moved to Madison, in 1985, where he began a job at the University Hospital and clinics as a peer mentor for new spinal cord injury patients. He then went back to school to receive his master’s degree in rehabilitation psychology and continued to be employed at UWHC, as a rehabilitation counselor until August 2007, after 22 years of service.
