Proposed changes to how the federal government awards research grants are raising concerns among scientists across the country, including researchers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison who say the changes could affect how medical discoveries are funded for years to come.
The Office of Management and Budget is proposing revisions to the federal rules that govern research grants, a move that has prompted more than 400,000 public comments from researchers, universities, patients and advocacy groups.
