UW Health changes its pediatric care using advanced tech only a few can access

UW Health is making radiology treatments easier for kids, using a new imaging machine that’s only available at a few hospitals worldwide.

It’s part of the new pediatric interventional radiology suite at the American Family Children’s Hospital, which began taking patients in June.

Interventional radiology is a growing subspecialty that uses medical imaging, such as MRI, ultrasound, CT scans and fluoroscopy (X-rays), to perform minimally invasive surgeries.
