As the only veterinary medicine school in the state, UW-Madison is working to recruit rural veterinarians as early as high school.
The program is called Food Animal Veterinary Medical Scholars. Students likely to pursue careers in food-animal veterinary medicine receive guaranteed admission and are placed on track to complete their undergraduate studies within three years.
