My favorite tomato is the Wisconsin 55, as much for the memories they stir as the taste they imbue. They’re a hybrid developed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the 1940s, and are said to thrive in Wisconsin’s sometimes moist summers, which I’ve found to be sort of true.
