Realta, MGE explore building a nuclear fusion power plant in Wisconsin

This summer, Realta announced plans to build a nuclear fusion research facility at the former Oscar Mayer plant in Madison, which company leaders said would create 600 jobs in the area, following a nationwide search of potential locations for the facility. The new 200,000 square-foot facility, called “The Realta Forge,” will allow the company to scale up its current research on a magnetic mirror fusion concept with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Physics Department.
