Learning the new starters on college football teams is a longer process for fans now more than ever in the transfer portal era.
The University of Wisconsin football team is no exception this season. The Badgers (1-1) started nine transfers in the opener against Notre Dame and 10 last week against Western Illinois. Acquiring those transfers, and the money raised and spent to do so, were major storylines of the Badgers’ offseason. Getting these players to campus in the flurry of the transfer portal was another major expenditure.
