The Weather Guys: Why do jet aircraft wings bend upward at the end?

Question: Why do jet aircraft wings bend upward at the end?

Answer: When a jet flies, the air flow over the wings generates air pressure beneath the wings that is higher than on the top of the wings. This pressure difference provides lift that allows the aircraft to fly.
