DETROIT — A medical doctor has been tapped to replace longtime president Irvin Reid as the head of Wayne State University.
A search committee Thursday announced the selection of Dr. Jay Noren, founding dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health, to lead the university.
From 1976-99, he was a member of the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Later, he was a professor in the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
