Daniel G. Rider, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2008. Dan received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1964. He was an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow. After nearly 40 years with the UW-Madison, he retired in 2003 as Professor Emeritus of mathematics.
