UW-Madison Inks Agreement With Iraqi School

As Wisconsin soldiers prepare for deployment, the University of Wisconsin-Madison is formally establishing ties with a changing Iraq by partnering with a prominent university.

UW-Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin and the president of Tikrit University signed an agreement to share teaching and research during a videoconference Monday. Martin called it an “unprecedented opportunity” to share education and science with the university, WISC-TV reported.

While the violence in Iraq continues, the heads of the UW and Tikrit University are having a meeting of the minds by signing a deal to help each other academically and foster dialogue between the two countries.
