James Ellis, the person behind @buckybadger, the Twitter handle for the Wisconsin Alumni Association, said that news of Favre joining the Vikings spread quickly on the social media Web site.
“When the Brett Favre story broke, it broke big,” Ellis said. “I saw it from at least 30 places (on Twitter) in the first two or three minutes, so I knew it was something definitely being talked about.”
