Dr. Glen E. Dirreen, age 75, passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2009. Glen worked as the director of General Chemistry Laboratories at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1972-1984. Indefinite appointment was granted in 1983. He became the coordinator of the General Chemistry Program and associate director of the Institute for Chemical Education 1984-1994.
