Rey Mooreâ??s appeal for a new trial involves new evidence that a jail inmate who told prosecutors Moore confessed his role in the Tom Monfils murder has recanted his testimony. Moore, 62, an inmate of the Oshkosh Correctional Institution, filed a motion for new trial this summer. The Wisconsin Innocence Project, a group of law students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison who seek out wrongful conviction cases, is representing him in the appeal.
