Murray Alexander Thompson, age 75, died at his home on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula in New Zealand on April 5, 2010. Murray spent a total of 37 years in the Physics Department before retiring as an emeritus professor early in 2000. From 1976 to 1989 he was the director of the Physical Sciences Laboratory.
