MGE stock hits near-record high as company holds annual meeting

Shares of stock in MGE Energy hit near-record levels Tuesday, just as the Madison utility holding company was staging its annual shareholders meeting. Gary Wolter, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said MGE is committed to staying independent, which, he said, has allowed the company to make some bold moves including installment of solar panels on a wing of the State Capitol and on a bicycle path near the UW-Madison campus.
