UW Natural Areas have a new name

Though they are old and beloved Madison landscapes, they now have a new name.

UW-Madison announced Wednesday that the woods, meadows and marshes along Lake Mendota – from Eagle Heights Woods on the western edge of campus all the way to Muir Woods and the Howard Temin Lakeshore Path – will be known as “The UW-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve.” The areas were known previously as the Campus Natural Areas.
