Animals are typically taken to Stoughton, where the zoo?s longtime veterinarian, Michael Petersen, has a practice, or are treated at the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. The upgrade in facilities will not only lead to improved health care but also aid in training veterinary students from UW-Madison and improve the zoo?s breeding programs.
