For the past eight months, the University of Wisconsin-Madison has spearheaded efforts to collect data and speak with students, faculty and staff about its sustainability performance. On Monday, the university’s Office of Sustainability announced the fruits of its labor, reporting that it earned a silver rating through the national Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System.

They found stock prices rose higher for businesses with attractive CEOs after positive news about the company aired on TV.

“I think they have their place. If people suffer from discomfort from sitting at their desk and they feel standing is beneficial, then such a desk might be helpful but you should be careful not to expect that a sit-stand desk is going to make sedentary work much healthier than if you just got out and exercised,” Radwin said.
During a visit to a Westby creamery on Monday, U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., says she’s hopeful the Senate will approve an $18 million increase for the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative.
The regents in 2017 adopted a policy declaring students who twice disrupt others’ free speech would be suspended for at least one semester. A third offense would mean expulsion. The policy hasn’t taken effect, however, because the UW System’s administrative rules haven’t been amended to include it.
UW-Madison scored silver in its first time being rated by a national organization that aims to boost environmental sustainability on campus.
“The cool thing about [UW Homecoming Week] is that there are a lot of events that make you have spirit throughout the week, not just the weekends,” UW Homecoming Committee member Colleen Muraca said.
SSFC also approved GSSF eligibility for Wisconsin Association of Black Men.
UW had score of 51.72, compared to University of Illinois with score of 72.89.
