David Hottman, a longtime professor of voice at the University of Wisconsin School of Music who often sang baritone roles with the Madison Opera, died Sunday afternoon. Hottman, 71, had been in a local nursing home for several months following a stroke. He retired from the university in 1998. Funeral arrangements and plans for a memorial service are pending.
