The Sunday afternoon rally drew nearly 5,000 fans to the Field House where they gathered to honor the national champions, the 1977 University of Wisconsin hockey team. The individual player introductions were handled by the tri-captains: Steve Alley, John Taft and Mike Eaves. A teary-eyed Elroy Hirsch, the UW athletic director, led the crowd in the singing of varsity, capping the festivities.
