T.J. Edwards’ debut season with the Wisconsin football team was an unqualified success.
At least that’s the way the Football Writers Association of America saw it.
Edwards was recognized Monday for his efforts as a key contributor to a Wisconsin unit that ranked No. 2 in scoring defense and No. 3 in total defense in the FBS this season, earning a place on the FWAA Freshman All-America Team. A starter in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman, Edwards led the Badgers in tackles with 84. He also logged 6.5 tackles for loss, broke up four passes and forced a fumble.
