UW-Madison Athletic Director Barry Alvarez understands why the university received a failing grade from the Black Coaches Association for its hiring of football coach Bret Bielema.
“They have a job and a responsibility according to what they know and how I went through the process,” Alvarez said of the BCA. “I understand why that grade is as it is.”
