The University of Wisconsin football team will open the 2009 season with an evening game.
The Badgers’ opener at Camp Randall Stadium against Northern Illinois on Sept. 5 will start at 6 p.m., the Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday.
UW had a great deal of success with night games prior to back-to-back losses to Ohio State (20-17) and Penn State (48-7) last season. It entered the 2008 season with a 10-game winning streak in night games, which improved to 11 with a win last season at Fresno State.
