UW hockey coach graduates day after his daughter

Just weeks before the end of the season and the end of the semester, University of Wisconsin-Madison head men’s hockey coach Tony Granato is on his office laptop. Surrounded by hockey sticks signed by the likes of former teammate Wayne Gretzky and photos of his wife and four kids, he’s focused on 500 words.

Dr. Baugh held several professional positions within the University of Wisconsin System, including Executive Director of the “Five-Year” Program (Madison), Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs/Assistant Professor (Oshkosh) and Senior Academic Planner, Academic Affairs (System Administration – 27 Campuses). He also served as the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Council of Criminal Justice (appointed by the Governor) prior to being appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1981 to serve as the Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Walker has said he’d be willing to look at more spending from the state’s main account — which also pays for K-12 schools, the University of Wisconsin, prisons, Medicaid and other government operations — to help pay for roads. But some are questioning the complex model lawmakers have devised to pay for the new scholarships, which would be funded by the proceeds from the sale of public land from one state agency to another.

After graduating from UW-Stevens Point in 1963, Corky took a job at the Wisconsin Union in Madison, where he worked until his “first” retirement in 1995. During his tenure, Corky led the design and construction of the original Union South in 1970 and was the founder of the Badger Bash at Union South in 1972, a Badger Football institution to this day.
