The 100-school list was published in the book “The Advocate College Guide For LGBT Students,” which came out in August. Erik Trekell is the director of the LGBT Campus Center for UW-Madison. MADISON, Wis. — A new initiative targeting underage drinking is launching in Madison but has drawn criticism from tavern owners.

There have been more than thirty thefts or burglaries since the first of the year, totaling a loss of more than $40,000 in cash and goods.

The Ozaukee County resolution cuts more than eight-thousand dollars from the UW-Extension budget, the same amount that UW-Madison pays lecturer Kevin Barrett. Barrett has been criticized for his belief that the United States orchestrated the 9/11 attacks.

In Madison, important research is looking at the impact of nicotine on adolescent rats, which may show why some young human smokers become addicted quickly.
Also funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, studies by Charles Landry, an assistant professor in psychiatry at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, have shown that brains of young rats show a dramatic response to an injection of nicotine equivalent to two or three cigarettes. Adult rats do not show the same response.
Hospitals across south-central Wisconsin are expanding like never before, thanks to improved technology and greater patient demand. In fact, some experts say it’s a trend that will impact disease diagnosis and health-care economics for years to come.
Nearly a dozen hospitals in cities like Watertown, Baraboo and Reedsburg have taken on extensive expansion or renovation projects and added the latest diagnostic tools like MRI machines and CT scanners.

They need to ensure that it goes right next time.

On Thursday, the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System approved a plan that would increase tuition for all students at the university�s La Crosse campus by a total of $1,320 over three years to diversify the student body there.

They still are not identifying themselves, but the “Dane County Danes,” who hoisted their country’s flag over Bascom Hall for five days last week, are willing to tell how and why they did it. In an e-mail from “Danmark Bascom” they responded to my query:
“The flag is there for three reasons,” write the Danes.
