Cheating Tennessee Cop Maegan Hall Inspires Fake Porn Video ‘Leaks’

Rolling Stone

The black market for explicit, compromising leaks (both real and phony) of images connected to niche scandals is certainly robust: last year, celebratory locker room nudes taken by the University of Wisconsin-Madison women’s volleyball team after a championship win were openly shared and critiqued across social media.

Why Pride Night is important for this Wisconsin women’s basketball coach

Wisconsin State Journal

With a top-35 attendance average last season and over 3,200 fans per game at the Kohl Center already this year, the University of Wisconsin women’s basketball program has one of the top platforms in the sport. Assistant coach Caroline Doty hopes it can be put to use Thursday evening when the Badgers host their first Pride Game when they take on No. 11 Maryland in a Big Ten Conference game.

The people and experiences that made Wisconsin football coach Luke Fickell

Wisconsin State Journal

Fickell, now 49 and the coach of the University of Wisconsin, quickly has gone about giving the Badgers program a facelift. From bringing in fresh offensive schemes, an entirely new coaching staff and a different approach to recruiting that already is paying dividends, the UW program feels as if it already is his despite being hired six weeks ago.

Players with Wisconsin connections enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Former University of Wisconsin cornerback Troy Vincent will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in a ceremony late in 2023, one of 18 players so honored in this year’s class.

One of the four coach inductees, Monte Cater, coached at Lakeland College from 1981 through 1986.

The College Football Hall of Fame encompasses a large contingent of inductees, but only 13 associated directly with their time at the University of Wisconsin make the list, though many others with connections to Wisconsin football have been recognized.

‘Wild fan mail:’ JJ Watt receives taxidermy Badger in the mail

TMJ4

JJ Watt received one of the strangest gifts in the mail and only Wisconsin fans will truly appreciate it.

The gift appears to be a taxidermy Badger. That’s right, someone appears to have sent Watt a stuffed Badger.

Watt shared photos of the gift on Twitter Thursday saying, “I have received a lot of wild fan mail over the years. This package that arrived today is certainly being added to the list.”

Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey team is ready for a critical phase of its season, beginning with a series against one of nation’s best squads

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Mark Johnson calls this the best time of the year.

It’s winter break on the University of Wisconsin campus, a time that most of the student body heads home and recharges for the second semester. The break is a favorite of the Wisconsin’s women’s hockey coach because it is the one time all season that his players can lock in and devote all of their energy to the game.

Wisconsin football players ready for last ride with DC Jim Leonhard

Wisconsin State Journal

Leonhard’s time at the University of Wisconsin is coming to an end soon. The former three-time All-American safety and UW hall of famer is not returning to the program after he was passed over as the team’s head coach in favor of Luke Fickell. His last game with the Badgers is set to be the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, and the players he led as interim coach for two months this season sought to commemorate their time with him.

Channel 3000

The Luke Fickell era at Wisconsin will have a soft opening. Fickell will be on the sideline against Oklahoma State on Tuesday night in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. Most of the major decisions, like naming a starting quarterback, will be made by interim coach Jim Leonhard and the other current Badgers coaches.

Jim Polzin: Wisconsin volleyball put on a great show to the very end

Wisconsin State Journal

As his players gathered in front of the student section to sing “Varsity” one last time this season, University of Wisconsin volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield stood by his team’s bench late Saturday night, watching with his arms behind his back.

He broke that gaze to take one last look up at the giant video board at the UW Field House, perhaps just to make sure he could believe what he was seeing. Yep, the bad news was still there: Pittsburgh in five sets, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13. The thinnest of margins, and so it’s the Panthers off to the Final Four while the defending champion Badgers come to grips with their hopes of a repeat dashed.

Wisconsin senior nose tackle Keeanu Benton announces he will skip the Badgers’ bowl game and enter NFL draft

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Nose tackle Keeanu Benton could have turned pro after the 2021 season, his third at Wisconsin.

The graduate of Janesville Craig High School chose to return to UW for his senior season for two reasons:

To help UW win a Big Ten title and to improve as a player.

UW failed to win the Big Ten West and finished just 4-5 in the Big Ten, but Benton put together his best season with the Badgers and on Friday announced via Twitter he is entering the 2023 NFL draft. Benton could have returned for a fifth season because of the COVID year exception.

Jim Leonhard will not return to Wisconsin football after bowl game

Wisconsin State Journal

Leonhard, the team’s defensive coordinator since 2017 and interim coach since Oct. 2, was a leading candidate for the permanent job. But UW athletic director Chris McIntosh hired former Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell last Sunday. Fickell was open to keeping Leonhard on staff and the men met three times over the past week to discuss the future, but Leonhard will be moving on.

Hiring doesn’t pass smell test

Wisconsin State Journal

Letter to the editor: Along with thousands of other alumni, fans and UW football players, I was shocked to find out that Jimmy Leonhard had not gotten the head coaching job at UW-Madison.

Other sports rely on football revenue

Wisconsin State Journal

Letter to the editor: UW-Madison athletic director Chris McIntosh stated during the Luke Fickell press conference that ensuring the survival of the athletic department serving around 800 student athletes factored into his recent UW football coaching change. The media ignored this very important point.

Fickell hire the right move

The Capital Times

Letter to the editor: The Big 10 is changing and each school must evaluate their team and coaching staff going forward. The money involved in college athletics has grown substantially, and successful football programs are normally the driver for the entire athletic program. Wisconsin must return its football team to its winning ways so that top players will want to come to Wisconsin.
