Concussion concerns prompt more Badgers to leave football

In all, UW-Madison student-athletes were diagnosed with 137 concussions from 2014 to 2018, according to records from an ongoing NCAA and U.S. Department of Defense concussion study obtained by the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism under the state Open Records Law.

Campbell Trophy, which annually recognizes the best football scholar-athlete in the nation—partly for his community activities that include mentoring youth at a correctional center, developing a program for student-athletes aimed at reducing the stigma of seeking mental health services and speaking to community and youth groups. Dixon was also nominated to the 2018 American Football Coaches Association Good Works team.

Quintez Cephus sues UW, says disciplinary investigation violating his rights

Suspended UW-Madison wide receiver Quintez Cephus, who was charged in August with sexual assaults of two women in April, sued the university on Tuesday alleging that it violated his constitutional rights by going ahead with a student disciplinary investigation despite Cephus’ inability to participate in it because of an ongoing criminal investigation.
