Susan then joined the Computer Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an assistant professor. She was promoted to associate professor in 1991 and to professor in 1996. She served as associate chair of the CS Department from 2004 to 2007. She retired and became Professor Emerita in April, 2014.

Among other libraries, Jean worked in the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Baltimore, Md., the University of New Hampshire Library, in Durham, N.H., Northwestern University Library in Evanston, Ill., and her favorite by far, the School of Library Science Library at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from which she retired in 1983 as associate director. After retirement, Jean was asked to organize a library in the UW-Madison Arboretum where she worked as a volunteer for ten years. She also organized the first Annual Native Plant Sale for the Friends of the Arboretum.

Bernice L. Kelly, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Bernice worked for the UW-Madison Computer Science Department, retiring after 17 years.

Professor Klausmeier?s major achievements while at the University of Wisconsin include the following; writing successive editions of three widely acclaimed college textbooks for educators, founding and procuring funding for the Wisconsin Center for Education Research and developing it as a leader in improving elementary and secondary education and with his colleagues at the Center, developing Individually Guided Education, an alternative to traditional elementary schooling. He directed the royalties that accrued from the sale of IGE materials to be used in establishing a Professorship in Education in the UW School of Education.

Harvey had a long and distinguished career as a reporter and public relations executive, starting with the Suburban Times of Des Plaines, Ill., in 1950. He became Associated Press editor, Chicago, from 1952 until 1959. Harvey was the Madison bureau chief for the Associated Press and lecturer at UW Madison School of Journalism from 1959 until 1966, when he became director of news and publications for the UW-Madison campus.

Noted: Much of the political capital Lucey earned by working in party vineyards was available to spend during his years as governor. He dusted off the idea of merging the University of Wisconsin in Madison, which also included the UW Extension and campuses in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Racine-Kenosha, with the nine-campus Wisconsin State University System. At the time, both systems had a Board of Regents.

Before he was governor, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, UW-Parkside, 10 freshman-sophomore centers and the extension system operated outside the chain of nine other state schools such as Platteville and Eau Claire. Each group had its own board of regents.

From 1961 to 1966, she was a UW Economics Department Project Assistant to Professor Elizabeth Brandeis Raushenbush, serving as the staff member of the fledgling Governor`s Committee on Migratory Labor of which Raushenbush was chairwoman. Helen was later appointed by Governor Knowles and reappointed by Governor Lucey to the Governor`s Committee on Migratory Labor and served as the Committee`s secretary. University President Weaver appointed Helen to represent the University on the Latin American Council.

Noted: Douglas Leonard Coleman was born on Oct. 6, 1931, in Stratford, Ontario. Influenced by his father, Leonard, who repaired radios and refrigerators for a living, Douglas spent much of his youth investigating how things worked by taking them apart. He earned a chemistry degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin.
