Dr. Boutwell was a Professor Emeritus of Oncology at the University of Wisconsin—Madison and an Emeritus Program Member for the UW Carbone Cancer Center. He was a founding faculty member of the Department of Oncology at McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He was regarded as a groundbreaker for many studies demonstrating cancerous tumor growth.
