He came to the UW-Madison in 1980, beginning a 23 year teaching career, retiring in 2003. In addition to teaching in the music composition program from freshman through doctoral students, he taught electronic music, directed the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, designed and built the school’s analog electronic music studio and its first digital electronic music studio, served as Director of Electronic Music, and chaired the Theory/Composition Area.
