Marilyn Ann Tasker Howard died at home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. After graduating with honors in mathematics at UW-Madison in 1956, Marilyn worked for the Forest Products Research Laboratory, writing programs for the (then) state-of-the-art IBM 650 main-frame computer that was located in the basement of Bascom Hall. She later worked as a computer programmer at the Space Astronomy Lab at the University.
