Milton Lee McPike passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Milt dedicated his life to serving the community, particularly by working with its youth. As principal of East High, he was recognized by President Bush as one of the top 10 educators in the United States. In retirement Milt served on the Board of Trustees of Edgewood College, the Norman Bassett Foundation, UW Hospitals Board, and the UW Board of Regents from which he resigned in March 2008, due to health reasons.
