She worked as an instructional materials center coordinator at Belleville High School from 1968 until 1972. She then came to the University of Wisconsin-Madison General Library System. Carol held many positions at the library including Head of Area Studies and Head of Original Cataloging, which she held from November 2000 until the time of her death. In addition to her work as a librarian, Carol also taught courses for the UW’s School of Library and Information Studies.
