Raymond A. Kubista died of heart failure on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008. After World War II, Ray found a job with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation on the UW campus. The institute eventually became the privately funded Covance Research Inc., and Ray was the head of its Food Microbiology Department by the time he retired in 1986.
