William L. Kraushaar, a pioneer of high energy astronomy, died peacefully on Friday, Feb. 21, 2008. At both MIT and the University of Wisconsin-Madison he was a devoted teacher of undergraduates and supervisor of graduate students, several of whom went on to distinguished careers in related fields of space research.
