Maury joined the UW-Madison Department of Agricultural Journalism faculty, where he was radio farm director and professor. After earning his Ph.D. at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., he returned to UW-Madison as a full professor in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
