Ron Reschke’s boots were made for walkin’.
On April 29, the former firefighter who is now a courier for UW Hospital and Clinics, set out on a Walk to Heal to raise money for cancer research. On Friday, 12 weeks and 1,200 miles later, he returned to Madison to finish his trek wearing the same boots.
With walking poles in hand and music from members of the UW Marching Band in the air, Reschke was welcomed home with a celebration at the UW Comprehensive Cancer Center.
