Broome native named university provost (Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin)

A Broome County native was named the University of Wisconsinâ??s provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Paul M. DeLuca Jr. was appointed to the post by Chancellor Biddy Martin on June 11.

The provostâ??s office is responsible for faculty and staff programs, diversity initiative, enrollment management, and articulating and implementing the universityâ??s research and education goals. The provost also acts as the universityâ??s chief executive in the absence of the chancellor.
