MADISON, Wis. — Open government advocates are blasting the University of Wisconsin-Madison for refusing to release the name of an employee who allegedly broke university policies in leading study abroad trips.
An audit found the employee violated financial policies and he and his family might have personally gained from his position because they traveled for free to Costa Rica twice.
The audit also said that the employee improperly hid a part-time job he had with the Madison school district from the university.
