The top lawyer for the National School Boards Association has been chosen as the next dean at the UW-Madison School of Education, Chancellor John Wiley said Friday.
Julie Underwood, associate executive director and general counsel for NSBA and a former faculty member at UW-Madison, is expected to begin work in early August. Underwood, who will make $210,000 a year, replaces W. Charles Read, who plans to retire this summer after 10 years at the helm of the school.
