Medical Schools Need to Revise Training and Improve Minority Recruitment, Educators Are Told

Medical schools need to loosen their hold on outmoded practices at a time when genomics and stem-cell research are promising longer and healthier lives, an aging population is confronting chronic diseases, and minority patients are still receiving substandard care, the president of the Association of American Medical Colleges said at the association’s annual meeting here on Sunday.
