Noted: Those living near the yet-unopened Union South might be dealing with some noise at night from outdoor parties.
The Plan Commission approved a detailed plan for the new Union South on the UW-Madison campus that includes outdoor weddings, movies and other events that could draw hundreds of night-time visitors.
An outdoor dining terrace on the southern end of the five-story building has a capacity of 585 people. The UW says it could be used for a variety of gatherings including wedding receptions or other social gatherings.
