A key prosecution witness at a trial that sent Thompson to prison for four months said he’s glad the woman has been acquitted and freed.
University of Wisconsin-Madison associate dean Frank Kooistra said Thompson is not a crook.
Kooistra served on a committee with Thompson that evaluated proposals from companies seeking a contract to book travel for state employees.
Kooistra and other committee members testified at Thompson’s trial last summer on charges that she steered the contract worth up to $750,000 to Adelman Travel Group because it was politically favored by Doyle’s administration. (Second item.)
